When I look on http://modern.ie, Microsoft provides VMs for major releases of IE - e.g. 9, 10, 11.
But there doesn't seem to be a way to control what precise sub-version you get.
The version I got when I downloaded their IE 11 VM was: 11.0.9600.17416.
But the version I wish to test on is: 11.0.9600.17842.
From googling the latter version number, I discovered a Windows Cumulative Security Update, which apparently incorporates this version of IE.
However, I'm a bit lost on how to install this particular update into a Windows machine. The Windows Update facility doesn't seem to give me any control over which update I install - it just does a complete upgrade to the latest update, I suppose.
So in summary, does anyone know of a straight-forward (or not so straight-forward) way to get a particular sub-version of IE 11 downloaded, installed and running in a VM?
