Is Selenium the proper tool for the job of performing automation of API testing?

I am testing a system which is written on .Net. I would like to implement API automation tests, so i have few questions:

1. Do you think that selenium is the right tool for the job?
2. Which of the Selenium would you use for that?
3. Where can i find good tutorials?
