Tool for automated testing of installer UI

I'm doing research on what would be the best tool for creating an automated test that would test the UI of an installer for errors/mistakes in the UI everytime a new version is pushed out. It would have to test that the buttons, layout, text and everything else are in order in all the windows of the installer and placed exactly as supposed to. I'm not sure if theres a specific term for this whole process. It would also have to work on Windows, OSX and Linux platforms.

So far the tools I've found are Sikuli and Robot Framework both of which Im studying right now. Sikuli seems to be the best choice currently even though it hasnt been updated for a while. Robot Framework Im not sure of whether or not its suitable for the task yet.

Are there any tools you fellas could perhaps recommend for such a task? Perhaps someone has done something very similar or so.
