How to test API integration in Android

I'm using Volley for API integration in Android. I need to write test cases for the APIs like login, sign up etc. for the application. I've seen WireMock and Roboelectric but I cannot understand how to implement it. Can someone give an example or a link for the same. I've seen a lot of theory but no proper examples.
