Volume Testing Approach

I am trying to come up with a strategy to test an UI with features displaying large volume of data ? Like 200,000 to 300,000 records in UI. At the moment wait time to load all the records in UI is ridiculous!! What is the best approach? And what are the things I should consider? How can I leverage our loadRunner tool into this type of testing?
