IndexedDB performance testing

I´ve just started reading about Web Workers and IndexedDB, and I´ve seen a lot of developers talking about doing performance tests on the browsers to check the speed, capacity, etc. I would be interested in learning to perform these kind of tests myself, but I don´t know what software to use or where to deploy it (in the browser I guess, but don´t know how).

I would like to ask for some advice as to how to tackle this matter, it seems like a very important milestone to become a web developer.
