Run OSGi when executing tests

I have an OSGi project and I've written some endpoint tests (REST) for some bundles. Since my test requires the system to be running I'm looking for a way to automatically lauch OSGi (by specifying the bundles?) when a test is started. How can this be achieved. My build tool is Gradle.

I've read somewhere the test task of gradle might be involved in the solution.
