Why and when should I use Zephyr in Jira for testing?

We are at the beginning of our project (software not finished, only specification, business processes analyzing) and we want to start with testing only from the information we already have.

But when should I use Zephyr in Jira and when is this tool too much? Why should I use it and not only the ticket system which Jira is offering? Pros and cons?
