what is the difference between testing and profiling?

i have a dynamic python program and i want test their methods validation and their consumed memory and processor capabilities, what about using different novel method without testing and integrating them directly in the code, but the old program is based on the previous test values to handle the validity of the overall system, how to make test results are included in program comportment.
