What are the advantage and disadvantages of use Jenkins LTS versions?

In a develop environment for a continuous testing environment in a team, what is the advantage or disadvantages to use LTS versions of Jenkins instead of weekly versions of Jenkins?

How works this types of versions with the versions of the plugins? Can exist problems for use LTS or Weekly with the plugins versions? (Example, i can't upgrade a mayor version of one plugins cause i'm stuck in a LTS version)
