How to divide templatized source code into code snippets?

I want to divide a code file (eg .py) into code blocks. This type of source code is very templatized, and it is easy for humans to divide the source code into blocks based on the functionality of different code snippets. I want to automatically divide the source code into fragments based on some specific methods. Can I use NLP to accomplish such a task? Or use some existing software analysis methods?
