Selenium test using explorer driver

i have a strange problem. I am using the 32 bit driver, when I type in a box the username with a @ it change the @ with ò

usernameInput.clear(); usernameInput.sendKeys("xx@xx.xx");

the result in the box must be xx@xx.xx but is xxòxx.xx
