Can we automatically generate test cases for a desktop application, which in this case is JEdit? If yes, please let me know how

I tried to use Randoop which can generate unit test cases for a class file or multiple class files and failed miserably.

1. Find software that could automatically generate test cases for desktop applications built on Java.
2. Generate at least 100 test cases from the application using the test case generation software.
