Should a team of developers use the same version of an OS? or different ones so as to facilitate platform testing?

We are a small team of developers, without the luxury of a dedicated test team.

Should we all develop our Desktop applications with Visual Studio on different versions of Windows (7,8,8.1,10) so as to conduct platform testing?

Do the advantages outweighs the disadvantages?
