best test framework for java desktop application

I have some java desktop applications with different input protocols such as rest web service, soap web service, iso message and customized object, that send data using RMI to another application and receive response. I need a test framework to test this input applications. Can any body guide me to choose a good framework? Should I for beeing customized object, be forced to write my own test framework?
