Comparing binary output (.ex, .fls, .elf) and decide to run/avoid further tests

Are there any tools to compare binary outputs (.jar,.ex, .fls, .elf,..etc) ?

We have several tests that run for hours, we are triggering tests irrespective of change to binary produced.

Example: if I add a comment, or make a minor change to sources, build will produce new output .ex, that might not change way it loads/boots in test environment, in such cases i wanted to avoid running tests, if i can compare my old binary tested and new binary my sources produced?
