How does the Automation API project has to look like? [on hold]

I kind of understand what I want to do, which is to automate API request, and I know how to do it. In the same time I realize that a real project has to deal with other stuff, but what is it? Please give like like a basic instruction, what folders my project suppose to have, what code I have to put there and why, where my test cases have to be stored and etc, what about config files, do I need them? Something like "Must have" for normal Automated API Test Cases Project
