PHPunit is slow at initialiazing tests

I need to run 8 unit tests that need to create a test database and then drop it afterwards. The tests are runned on a XAMPP server, using PHP 7.3 and PHPunit 8.5, both via Intellij and using the prompt command are very slow, about 1 minutes for 8 tests. The same tests run in 4 seconds on my laptop which is significantly less powerfull than my desktop PC. I've tried disabling and avoid the loading of Xdebug, tried different PHPunit version and re-initialize the project with composer, but the test time is painfully slow. All the tests are performing simple queries on the database, any thoughts?
