Record and play back browser activities with Protractor / Selenium?

I'm not sure if I understand the functionality of Protractor correctly. Do I understand that Protractor does not allow you to make recordings of browser activities that will be played back (repeated) during testing. Like Selenium, for example, makes it possible. Is there a way to use Selenium and Protractor together?
