How to access autofill passwords stored in a browser of a target machine?

We are working on a Software that tests if the browser is secure or not and are the autofill passwords accessible by an outside source. For that purpose we need guidance on whether the passwords stored are domain specific or not and what are conditions under which the passwords can be accessed.
