QA - Web analytics testing - How to expand my knowledge regarding this?

I have a question about testing of web analytics.

I understand that this is not for this website, but I am not sure where else to ask this.

So, my job, among other things, is to test that web analytics is properly implemented on website. So now, I would like to expand my knowledge about all of that. I understand that I have to check for some parts of code if they are present on web pages or not, I know that with some add-ons I can check if they are firing proper events and similar things.

Is there a way to learn anything more relevant to this, are there any "special" tools and programs that I could use to test this in more depth?
