Me and a friend we're arguing about the importance of testing programs. The program has already been whitebox tested (Unit tested) so this was more about Blackbox testing.
My argument was that larger programs have no greater testing needs than a smaller program in regards to Blackbox testing.
For instance, a smaller program, for a Library system that monitored books on loan or inn stock should be held in just as high regard as a system that monitored suspicious individuals movements in and out of a country.
My argument was, that, although the latter is incredibly more important to national safety, the Blackbox testing element should be the exact same process:
- There should still be independent testers
- The people who developed the program shouldn't perform 100% of the Blackbox testing
- In any company environment certain standards are kept for the companies programs.
The library System should not be tested any LESS thoroughly even though it's less important in general.
