Selenium Test C#: is it possible to debug code for live webpage from visual studio without recompiling

Basically, to reach a certain web page requires protracted loging in and automated navigation - it seems wasteful to have to do this everytime while working on the code. Is there really no way to jump back and forth in the code while being on a certain page, and altering code to identify elements?

Dream on, I think... Or not?
