Is there a way to improve Selenium Builder performances, for example with plugins?

I'm trying Selenium Builder and I'm having a hard time trying to improve its performances and features because I'm not satisfied with its usability. I'm used to Selenium IDE and there are many plugins to improve it (ex: "Stored Variables", "Highlight Elements"...) Have you tried or heard about ways to improve the plain Selenium Builder?
