How to test an image processing output for an matlab or c++ code?

I am new to image processing. I want to test an SLO (scanning laser ophthalmoscopy) image that has been generated from an matlab,(code is also made available on Visual studio envioronment) . Example images are: 2D macular fundus, 3D Cube data of retina, 2D constructed ONH data and so on.

Any lead on testing an OCT machine output would will help me. Can anyone suggest me as to how to go on testing?
