Is there a way to use TestFX for Application Under Test

I'm trying to develop a program like squish, (of course) not detailed like it but in a very simple way. But for that i need to open JavaFX applications just like squish. Is there a way to do this while using testfx? Btw, i am a noobie. Sorry if this is a stupid question:D
