Generate national ids

I need to generate data representing persons who might be legitimate bank customers. The persons may come from any country in the world (but the requirement may be narrowed to only, say, European countries, or big 20 or some other, but preferably large number of countries).

What I found so far: pycountry - can give me necessary country info. names - can generate plausible names (though it's not very inventive). python-stdnum - can validate national ids. What I need is, however, not a validation, but a generation of such ids. python-stdnum doesn't seem to be able to generate them, unfortunately... Further googling had been fruitless so far.
