Looking for Testing tool that will enter test data using a script or some automated process?

I'm regularly working in VS 2015/2017 and testing my code in various applications (both web apps and stand alone apps). I'd like to have a script or some tool that I could write/assign data to which would fill out my window/webpage.

Ideally, I'd like this "tool" to be a separate windows app that I can run, tell it what window/page to enter the data into in a specific sequence ... or even be able to record my data entry of the web page I'm testing and have it save my data entry and then I could play back the saved script/recording for my active or window/page of choice.

Any such tools available?
