I am a noob, I do not understand what AssertionError [ERR_ASSERTION]: Input objects identical but not reference equal: means

I am writing a unit test for a function. It is supposed to check if the second argument, an array is passed. It looks like it passed through to me, but is not passing the test. What does reference equal mean? Image is attached. enter image description here
