Intentionally create tomcat internal errors

I'm trying to modify my tomcat9 logging configuration. I was wondering how to cause tomcat itself to throw an error. I want to make sure how some of my current logging configurations handle tomcat9 internal logging/errors vs application (that is running inside tomcat) logging/errors. I have no problems generating application errors and log messages on demand - but I was interested how could I cause on demand errors to be thrown by tomcat itself. Lets say once every 5 minutes.
