Initial testing procedure in a most of the company

When you join a company as a tester and you know about testing types like sanity, ad-hoc, Integration, Regression, functional, and other types of testings and what they are, but you don't know which one to do when a developer initially push the code to the domain and a tester needs to start testing it. So, my question is what type of test does tester initially start on the domain till the production.
