What test should I use when I have words as the independent variable and YES or NO as the dependent variable?

I have a count of how many times each word showed for a person that said YES and the count of the same words for people that said NO. I want to know if some of those words are actually statistical significant. I am using R Studio. What test should I use? Chi Square? How my data is supposed to look like?
