Why is unit testing C difficult? [closed]

I was watching a talk on unit testing c and the general consensus seems to be that unit testing C code is a headache. Is it the nature of procedural languages that make it difficult, dependencies, etc? I've seen a couple of testing frameworks for C but still would like to get an idea of why it can be difficult.
