Clone Testplan with Requirement based Testsuites, keep link to requirement

We have set up a large test plan to verify the implementation of our requirements. Therefore we have created a lot of "requirement based testsuites" which contain all tests for a certain requirement.

Everything worked fine until we tried to clone the test plan for a new version of our software (e.g. version 1.0 is cloned for version 1.1).

Currently we can only see two options for the cloning of these test suites

• Requirement based testsuites become static TestSuites with no link to the requirement
• Using the copy requirement function, requirements based test suites are copied but not linked with the original requirement but a copy of it (new ID)

What we want is a copy of the original requirement based test suite with a link to the original requirement.

It should contain:

• Link to the original requirement

• Copy of all testcases, with all test steps
