I'm not a statistician but I have data in which there is a skewed distribution. I've been asked for significance test above 95%, which seems to be tests only validated for normal distributions.
I've found a few types of test such as Pearson, but don't know which to use as some are said not to give a reliable result or can only be used as an indication of the presence of skew such as the SKEW function in excel. Can someone point me in the direction of a validated test for skew that will give me significance?
