ROM-DOS testing memory

I am tasked with writing an application to test a couple of embedded systems:

• Arcom ELAN-104NC
• Vortex VDX-6353D-512

These boards are running ROM-DOS 7.1, I need to write an application that can test the system memory and serial ports.

Is there any application already available that will run in ROM-DOS that can test extended memory? the Vortex has 512MB DDR

I am working in C++ using Borland C++ 5.2
