error meaning in fault/error/failure

So I am currently studying about testing. I encountered fault/error/failure problem. Fault and failure were quite easy to understand, but there is a problem with error. There are sources that say errors are like human made logical mistakes, while others say that it is a state. I am reading a book by Kshirasagar Naik and it says that error is a state of the system and fault → error → failure, other sources say error → fault → failure considering error as human-made logical mistake. So which definition is correct?enter image description here
