Is it possible to compare test results in VSTS?

I'm using VSTS to run some basic tests that do some tests on some data. Whilst the tests may remain valid, I'd like to compare other metrics such as internal run times of specific parts of the code.

I know in VSTS I can compare pass/failure and even overall test run time, however I can't seem to compare custom data from tests. Is this supported? This isn't just for performance testing though, I'd like to compare numerous features of my result data which do not correspond to a pass/fail of a unit test.

I'd been digging through documentation and I see things like Diagnostic Data Adapters and such which seemed like a way forward at first, but from further reading I couldn't find a way to make them useful in my case, perhaps from a lack of experience with them.

TLDR; Can I compare all my tests over time in VSTS, comparing custom "output" of tests, potentially even creating a regular email or such with this data in, or alerts, or something similar?
