Testing Google Maps on Android

I am pretty new to this. I have got google maps setup and I have few static Markers(mainLocationMarker, locationOneMarker and locationTwoMarker). when I click on locationOneMarker and locationTwoMarker, it will show me directions to the mainLocationMarker.

Can you suggest on how I can test Google maps, any suggestions links to any guides would be very helpful.

I have heard about UIAutomater but not had much info on how to use it for Google maps.
