The following is a test I recently completed but I am not sure on my method. Could someone please see the questions and tell me how they would answer the following questions, perhaps after posting we can discuss my answer.
The below is some dummy data of a typical retention graph showing D1 – 7. All seems fine but there is a sudden sharp drop at D5. 1. How would you investigate what the cause of the significant drop is? a. What area(s) would you start to investigate first? b. What steps would you undertake to validate your thesis / learnings?
D1 - 60, D2 - 56, D3 - 40, D4 - 38, D5 - 15, D6 - 12, D7 - 2
2.The below is some dummy data showing the percentage of players during a 7-day cohort that purchased at least 1 IAP. There was a sudden spike at D5 before returning down to normal levels. 2. How would you investigate what was the cause of the sudden increase? a. What would you review and investigate first? b. How would you suggest this can be replicated? i. Are there any dangers of replicating it?
D1 - 0, D2 - 2, D3 - 23, D4 - 25, D5 - 56, D6 - 17, D7 - 20
Please help me out!
I am just not that confident in my answer, this was due last week and I have not received my results yet but am bit nervous that my method was incorrect. I mainly mentioned: -I would go through the data I have and run some data validation tests -Understand what caused the slight decreases from D1 - D2 and D2 - D3 to give a slight understanding on potential variables that could affect my result - Go through data and see what big changes had been made to our system that cause a drastic decrease etc
