TestCafe - Is it possible to execute a batch program or call an external script while executing tests in Testcafe

I am stuck with a scenario where I am tasked to use TestCafe for browser automation where when a button is clicked, it downloads an excel file. This excel file is composed of interactive forms which need to be automated as well by opening the file from Windows explorer. From what I know Testcafe doesn't support windows excel spreadsheet UI automation. I am looking for some direction if Testcafe has support for calling a custom script like Selenium has "exec" function to call external scripts and if there are good open source UI tools to help with automating excel UI interactive forms
