Testing connection to a database inside of a AWS VPC using external CI service?

I'm trying to run tests against real databases (Postgres) that is inside of a VPC. I'm using an external CI service (like travisCI, circleCI).

Has anyone been able to use external CI services to run tests against a DB in a VPC?
