How to set up a Server in my WLAN if I don’t have access to the router settings?

I’m developing an app that plays and download some media (videos and audio) from a remote server. I’ll like to test it in my phone but I still have no access to the real server, so I’ll like to set up one in my MacBook where some of the media is saved, and I’ll like to access that media through the app by http or https protocol to test the app.
