How should I do performance and scalibilty test on my MS SQL? Any recommended approachs by Microsoft?

I have a DB with it's design almost complete and with libraries/catalogs with data. I can populate data randomly where data is missing. How can I start a performance and scalability test? Any recommended approach by Microsoft? Thanks in advance for your help.
