Do we need database load testing?

I am a database guy and in my project we already have automated test suite in place. In this test suite we call web methods (which are analogous to the operations performed in web portal) and some of them in turn make DB calls.

My question here is do we need DB load test as we already have above mentioned test suite. If yes, can you please let me know the reason.
