what is the role of Bootstrap.jar and bootstrap.js in appium? How appium actually use them?

The appium push the bootstrap.jar while running the test. The java client send the webdriver commands to appium server and appium forward these commands to the vendor provided frameworks.but the vendor provided frameworks are responsible for the actions performed on device then what is the role of bootstrap.jar and bootstrap.js?
