Is Quality control comes under Quality assurance?

I have read many articles about SQA(Software Quality Assurance) and SQC(Software Quality Control) In some of them it has mentioned that quality control is a series of inspections, reviews, and test used throughout the development cycle of a software product. But in another article QC is mentioned as it is done on the final product. Does QC comes under QA?

I am also confused about verification and validation is it coming under QC or QA ? please help me with these concepts of QA,QC, validation and verification?
