How to create auto test on Android?

I am wanting to create an auto test app on android, I wrote C# code with adb, but it must have a computer to launch the app. I don't want to do that, can I develop an Apk application when the file pops up and it will do my job? even when the phone is rooted.

I am thinking of a direction that is using appium but is there a way to deploy it to vps to run it and create an API to manage it?
