The app (which is an iPad app) allows multi-conferencing of up to 6 people. We use a 3rd party which allows us to have 1 stream up which it then replicates to the 5 other people in the meeting. We then receive the 5 streams from those other people down.
The app allows you to do "other things" whilst vid conferencing - let's say it has a text box you can type into. We're finding that some issues arise whilst doing "other things" on the iPad.
At the moment we're just manually testing which involves 6 people and requires a lot of overhead to setup. If we're to have a chance at fixing these issues we need to be able to test with just 1 person: Change a line of code - test it - repeat until fixed. There will likely be 100s of tests.
I have only thought of elaborate ways to allow testing such as having 5 iPads on a shelf (or similar) with their cameras facing a screen so we can see some movement from the test (6th) iPad. In order for the audio to work we'd need to plug in mics into the iPads and have them feed off to a speaker each with something that plays a sound one at a time (not everyone is allowed to talk at once).... this sounds ridiculous lol
What is the best way to test audio / video streaming without the requirement of multiple human beings?
