Java Swing automation testing/functional and non- functional

I need help regarding my Java Swing application testing. I have vast experience in mainframes technology but i do not have experience in Java. So i am kind of a beginner in Java technology and i am looking for a good way to automate Java Swing application. Can someone suggest a way to automate java swing application for a beginner?
